Great Lakes Medical Laboratory perform Real Time reverse transcription–polymerase chain reaction (rt-PCR) testing, which typically returns results within 24 hours (but may be longer in times of peak demand).

While you remain in the vehicle/or on site, a healthcare professional will approach you and swab you to collect a sample of Nasopharyngeal Swab. The swab should reach a depth equal to the distance from the nostrils to the outer opening of the ear. The CDC recommends leaving the swab in place for several seconds to absorb secretions and then slowly removing the swab while rotating it.

We understand that you may need to bring someone with you; however, only patients who scheduled a visit online can be tested.
For rapid-result testing (results within hours), patients must be 5 years of age or older. For lab testing, patients must be 10 years of age or older. A parent or legal guardian must complete registration for all minor patients (Nebraska: a minor is anyone under age 19). Patients 5-15 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, who may need to assist with sample collection using the swab.
Not for travelers testing. Travelers covid-19 testing is deemed as a surveillance testing not as a diagnostic testing, therefor insurance is not accepted.
However we do accept insurances for testing accompanied with a doctor order. Patients with insurance should not have any out-of-pocket costs for a covered COVID-19 test, but you should check with your health plan to confirm before scheduling a test. If you have health insurance, and would like to book an insurance testing appointment please call 248-254-3950, and you must bring your card with you to the test site. You likely will not have any out-of-pocket costs for testing to further evaluate COVID-like symptoms accompanied by a doctor order, but you should check with your health plan to confirm coverage. You will be responsible for any patient cost share as determined by your insurance. If active coverage cannot be located, your test will be submitted to the federal program for the uninsured for payment.
If you have a doctor order and do not have insurance, we will ask you for your Social Security number (card not needed), driver’s license or state ID to submit the cost of your test to the federal program for the uninsured. If you do not have insurance and are using the federal program for the uninsured to cover your COVID-19 test, however, any additional lab testing will not be covered under the uninsured fund. You need to call 248-254-3950 for insurance covered testing.
You can choose to pay for your test with a debit/credit card (self-pay is not available in NY, NJ and RI). The cost is $99 for the laboratory that processes your test, at some third party locations there might be up to $45 as a collection and same day shipping fee.
For a Rapid Anti-Body test, the cost is $49.

Yes. Appointments could be made for the same day and up to one month in advance (depending on availability).
